As I was reading and listening to John 3 today, here is a verse I’ve rarely heard quoted; however, it substantiates that, in the mind of John the Baptizer, belief in Christ was an aspect of obedience to Him:

John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
